We’ve got two more great speakers lined up for the latest in our Turn On, Tune In series of events at The Hospital Club on Thursday 9th February. Find out more about Laura Greene (Casting Producer, First Dates) and Matt Nida (Series Producer, Big Fat Quiz of the Year), who will take us behind the scenes of their hit shows, and reveal a few of the secrets of their success!

Laura Greene
The Casting Producer on Channel 4’s smash hit series, First Dates, will reveal how she tackles one of TV’s toughest casting briefs.

Laura has worked as a Casting Producer and Researcher for some of the UK’s biggest production companies and broadcasters, including Two Four, Mentorn, Electric Ray and Remarkable TV as well ITV and the BBC. Her credits include shows such as Bodyshockers, Give It A Year, The Zoo and Red or Black.

On Thursday she’ll be discussing her work as Casting Producer on Twenty Twenty’s BAFTA-winning reality series, First Dates, for Channel 4. The critically-acclaimed show follows real-life singletons as they get to know each other over dinner at a London restaurant, and has been described as “the best dating show on TV” and “reality television at its finest”.

Matt Nida
One of the UK’s most in-demand comedy entertainment Series Producers, Matt Nida, uncovers his secrets for panel show success, including his work on Channel 4’s Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Matt’s career has taken in spells as a Producer and Series Producer for leading indies including Pulse Films, Wall To Wall, Liberty Bell and Avalon, with credits including Al Murray’s Great British Movies series for BBC Four and The Battle For South Thanet, Compete For The Meat and Jo Brand’s Great Wall of Comedy for UKTV.

On Thursday he’ll be discussing his work on Hot Sauce TV’s Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Channel 4’s long-running annual pub-quiz style panel show. The Jimmy Carr-hosted series, running since 2004, has also spawned several spinoffs, and proved a regular ratings winner. Having also worked on Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, and Would I Lie To You?, Matt will give an insight into the ongoing success of the panel show format.
