Our Edit Technician will deliver a high level of client-focused support and services to productions. Using ITVS Technology facilities, the role will utilise current broadcast equipment in conjunction with emerging IT technologies, while supporting the wider post production department.

To deliver a high level of client-focused support and services to productions.
To utilise current broadcast equipment in conjunction with emerging IT technologies and when required to support the wider post production department with a focus on operational efficiency and business targets.
Provide VQC & transmission services.
To assist senior members of the department in their roles and develop less senior members of the technical team.
To skilfully and creatively operate a wide range of equipment within the department such as NLEs, DAWs, GFX software, VTRs, broadcast routers, switches etc
To provide Media Management and perform or support editing processes
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

Minimum role criteria:
Technically proficient with broadcast IT as well as broadcast equipment, networks and software.
Experience of excellent planning and organisation skills with proven attention to detail and working to deadlines.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with the capacity to work with tact and diplomacy.
A proven ability to demonstrate a flexible approach and to cross disciplines as and when required, adapting to changing priorities and requirements and revising working practices to deliver innovative solutions.
Ability to demonstrate resilience, flexibility and initiative with experience of successful problem solving.
Vision and hearing capable of discerning video and audio quality to broadcast standards.

The Key role criteria is as follows:

Technical:
A thorough knowledge of broadcast standards and file formats, production processes, systems.
Highly proficient with broadcast IT and broadcast equipment, NLEs, DAWs, GFX software, transcoders, standards converters etc.

Planning and Organisational:
Demonstrates ownership over process, workload, deadline and issue resolution
Able to work within time and budget parameters
Takes responsibility for administration, ensuring appropriate paperwork is completed in a timely manner and colleagues / clients advised accordingly

Resilience, Flexibility, Initiative and Problem Solving:
Ability to work in a flexible manner both autonomously and as a positive and proactive member of a multi-skilled team
A strong desire and willingness to advance craft skills and extend technical knowledge; a readiness to develop skills with new equipment, techniques and emerging technology throughout the department.
Willingness to undertake training in emerging technologies as appropriate and share experience and working knowledge with colleagues to maximise the team's capability.
