This role requires you to be in the office 4-days a weekCommissioning Executive ProducerReports to: VP, Factual Programming, UK, Europe & AfricaNumber of Director reports: 0Department: National Geographic ChannelsPurpose of the role:To deliver content for National Geographic Channels International (Nat Geo Core Channel):Responsible for the supervision, from initial concept to delivery and broadcast, of premium and non-premium international series and special hours at Channel levelCollaborate with production companies to develop content ideas and provide editorial guidance that enables producers to create compelling visual content with powerful storytelling, resulting in entertaining programs that meet/exceed ratings goals.Responsibilities:Assumes principle editorial voice on assigned projects, from point of commission and production through to delivery.Tasked with upholding the Channel's core values.Create premium, entertaining, and engaging programming that exceeds ratings targets.Ensure commissioned production companies are working with the top creative talent in the industry both within the UK and throughout the world.Encourage innovation, identify key production trends, and seize opportunities to evolve the content for the brand.Protect programming investment dollars by making sure budgets are reasonable and that production companies deliver according to expectation.Liaise with the key stakeholders in the genre: major institutions in the UK and overseas; global co-production partners, key talent on and off-screen.Form and develop trusting relationships with existing and new suppliers.Co-ordinate with Marketing, Ad Sales, Communications and Digital to provide necessary information and materials for the development and generation of Cross-Platform Content initiatives and strategy.Liaise with Production Management, Finance, Business Affairs, Scheduling and Operations to ensure performance and success of production workflow.Work in close co-ordination with National Geographic's Standards and Practices department and maintain editorial standards consistent with the NGC mission and brand strategy.Provide guidance and support for the VP, Factual Programming, UK, Europe & Africa, fostering a collaborative team culture where everyone is empowered to succeed.Build strong relationships across NGC working collaboratively with teams across the Channels to ensure interactions are simple, consistent, and seamless.Required Profile:Be able to demonstrate experience in factual and specialist factual programming.3+ years high-level series production experience on factual programming.A strategic thinker who can ensure delivery of impactful, innovative, and successful programmes.Excellent communications skills, which enable you to form trusting and production relationships with a wide range of colleagues and clients.Influencing skills to work effectively with peers and senior team.Assured negotiator able to think positively and resourcefully when dealing with obstacles, and to adapt to changing circumstances.Bachelor's Degree
