Lead Technical Artist

As a Lead Technical Artist working within the Art Department, you will be working alongside an enthusiastic team of developers helping to drive and deliver the next generation of AAA games created at TT.
As part of the Technical Art Team, the successful candidate will enjoy developing new tools and production pipelines whilst also improving existing technology and workflows. You will need to have a proactive approach to tasks alongside a friendly and approachable personality, as you will often be the main point of contact within the team when any issues arise.
Being a creative person with the ability to communicate your ideas clearly is a must, as you will often be the main link between programming and art.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the main point of contact for tools, workflows, and engine functionality across multiple areas of a project.
Identify issues with existing tools along with evaluating and developing new tools to help push the quality of the game.
Ensure runtime budgets are being maintained. Manage optimisation work required whilst maintaining visual quality.
Provide accurate time estimates for task completion, demonstrate an understanding of cross-discipline dependencies and how their work impacts upon your teams.
Collaborate closely with the Technical Art Director and wider engineering team to design and implement tools, technology and workflows used by the various teams in the studio.
Support the Technical Art team on project, helping them to define and achieve their career goals. Review training and development requirements for the team.

Required:
MEL, Python, C#, scripting.
Proficiency in Maya, Photoshop, Unreal Engine
Experience creating Custom Tools, Scripts and Shaders.
Excellent at both technical and creative problem-solving.
Excellent communication and people management skills
Excellent working knowledge of content creation pipeline (modelling, UV, texturing, lighting, and Shaders)
Beneficial:
Comfortable working and developing in a multi-platform, multi-project environment.
Games industry experience is preferred, having shipped title(s) on current console generation hardware.
Knowledge of procedural tools such as Houdini, Maya Bifrost
Experience with source control programmes such as Perforce & SVN.
Use of production tracking tools such as JIRA & Confluence.
Experience of performance evaluation and associated tools.
