The School of Film & Television is looking to recruit a Senior Technician in Editing & Post Production to join our team. We are looking for a new member of staff to enhance our technical team by transferring their knowledge and understanding of the craft of editing to our students.The ideal candidate will have substantial recent demonstrable craft experience in post-production editing from working as an editor in industry on both long-form and short-form projects. It would be advantageous to be able to provide a C.V. of broadcast film and/or television credits that will demonstrate experience of editing a wide range of genres. Equally, however, we welcome applications from individuals who have, or are currently fulfilling a similar role at a higher education institution.Technically, you will have operational experience of industry standard non-linear editing (NLE) platforms including Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere. You will be accustomed to editing with different formats and codecs, and able to demonstrate a high level of skill and understanding in editing craft, file management, post-production workflow and output to a range of formats and media. Experience in colour grading will be an advantage, as will use and experience of operation, networking and administration of an Avid NEXIS or equivalent shared data storage system.You will provide a professional level of technical instruction, curriculum support, demonstration and supervision for the technical facilities, equipment and/or processes for all of the subjects of the School. This includes the set-up, maintenance and supply of resources and equipment, and the provision of technical assistance, advice and instruction to all stakeholders, including students, academic staff, and external customers.A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by Falmouth Staffing Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Falmouth University. Employees of Falmouth Staffing Ltd work alongside Falmouth University colleagues in delivery of Falmouth's strategic vision, and will adopt Falmouth University's HR policies and procedures in full.
