The Social team is responsible for the social media presence of UKTV's channel portfolio: U, U&Dave, U&W, U&Alibi, U&Yesterday, U&Gold and U&Drama. The team strive to drive quality engagement with new and existing fans through entertaining, innovative and impactful social content and conversation. The in-house team, made up of editors, coordinators and social media managers specialise in content production, community engagement and campaign management across owned, earned and paid media channels across a range of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube. The social team's innovative campaigns are industry recognised and benchmarked as the best in the broadcasting industry.

Purpose of the role
This role will report into the Senior Social Video Manager sitting within the Social & Online team, supporting video editing for all social platforms, and responsibility for YouTube channel management needs across all accounts. A typical day might include watching a UKTV Original show (such as Will & Ralf Should Know Better, Bangers & Cash, Bookish or Outrageous) and using your proven understanding of Social algorithms and audience development best practise to create and manage content which you think would resonate best with our audiences. You could be collaborating with the wider team to brainstorm digital video campaign ideas that will launch a shiny new show, or agonising over thumbnails and titles for an upcoming YouTube video. All of your work will contribute towards the growth of UKTV's digital presence, creating attention grabbing, high dwell time content to deliver on our ambitious view and revenue targets.

What we would like you to bring to the role....key experience, knowledge, skills & personal qualities
Experience:
* Proven experience editing and packaging video and image assets for social media platforms using Premiere Pro and Photoshop, with After Effects a nice to have
* A clear knowledge of platform specific best practices, in particular YouTube
* A demonstrated history of successfully working within a team
* A strong understanding of channel management tools like YouTube and META's creator studios
* Experience with compliance and editorial best practice incumbent with working for a PSB
* Experience managing rights and territorial restrictions actively and confidently
* Experience with camera and audio equipment, and self-shooting, a plus
* Experience working with talent, a plus

Knowledge:
* A digital native with a proven understanding of platform features, what drives audience growth and revenue on Social Platforms, as well as best practices and trends
* A passion for TV and how it can connect with audiences on digital platforms

Skills:
* Proficiency in Adobe CC Suite - especially Premiere Pro and Photoshop with After Effects an advantage
* Excellent communicator and team player who is highly organised and able to manage their own workload to deliver on tight deadlines
* Strong attention to detail, with a keen eye on editorial to turn episodic content into platform specific social video
* Excellent grammar and spelling
* Proactive and flexible approach to work, comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
* Camera manning & filming experience, an advantage

* Source, research and create best in class video content for our brand accounts across Social Platforms, with an emphasis on our YouTube channel brands
* Take the lead on content output and performance across one or more YouTube channel brands managing BAU and campaign support
* Support channel strategy and objectives by delivering social media video in line with brand guidelines, platform best practices and legal & compliance
* Contribute ideas for new digital video formats and approaches on an ongoing basis.
* Take a data-driven approach to growth, regularly Implementing learnings from the performance of videos to inform future output
* Become an expert voice for YouTube within the business, able to contribute effectively and confidently in any setting
