What You'll Do:
IMG Studios is a premier production centre with state-of-the art studios, post-production and live operations facilities. It houses 4 HD broadcast television studios, 9 production galleries, 3 dubbing suites, 50 edit destinations, 3 radio studios, an award-winning 3D Graphics & Visual Effects team, and one of the largest data centres built specifically for digital media and broadcast in recent times. The Master Control Room includes 5 transmission suites and monitors over 200 HD lines in & out of the building. With its own satellite farm and direct links to many of the leading sports stadia in the UK, IMG Studios is at the centre of sports and entertainment production and distribution.
We are seeking a technical enthusiast and career driven Senior Broadcast Engineer to join our talented engineering team on a permanent basis. We are also considering experienced Broadcast Engineers who are looking to make that next step up in their career, with the fantastic opportunity to take on more responsibility, ownership of projects, mentoring staff and managing tickets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operation of our diverse range of broadcast systems within all areas of IMG Studios including live galleries and studios, post-production and transmission.
It is key that you have a keen interest in emerging technologies and are ready to assist senior members of staff with in-house broadcast projects and installation work, as well as finding alternative technical solutions for an ever-changing technical environment.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time permanent role based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge. You will be required to work on a 7-day fortnight shift pattern including weekends, unsocial hours and over seasonal holidays.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
To provide proactive support and maintenance services for very busy live studios, post-production and transmission facilities.
Work with senior engineers and other departments on high-severity, active support issues, prioritising mitigation while investigating root-cause fixes.
Deep understanding of broadcast systems, camera technologies, vision mixers, audio consoles, control room operations, shared data storage systems, transmission and post-production systems.
Working as part of a dynamic engineering team towards engineering developments and special projects within IMG.
Supporting the Lead Engineer in helping provide fast and effective solutions to issues that may arise in a live studio transmission.
Help to train and mentor the engineering team both staff and freelance promoting good working relationships and practices.
Supporting clients at IMG's facilities with the ability to organise and prioritise work so that deadlines are met.
Maintaining all paperwork required to make sure the department runs efficiently.
Ensure any changes to live systems are carried out as per the change management process, this includes project work and problem fixes.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
Extensive operational experience as a TV Facilities Engineer with knowledge and firm understanding of studio, transmission and post-production equipment and/or workflow systems.
Strong understanding/knowledge of IT and broadcast IP Infrastructure such as 2110, AES 67, and NMOS.
Multiple specialist engineering skills in some of the following areas of IMG's technical operations - live gallery/ studios, transmission, post-production and/or encoding.
Excellent and thorough knowledge of production engineering environment
Demonstrated established relationships with clients at all levels.
Outside Broadcast experience would also be advantageous.
