The Operations Manager is one of the most senior roles at UTV and is central to the running of both our news and programmes output. We have a very successful team in Northern Ireland who win awards and attract huge audience shares and we're looking for someone who can inspire a large group of colleagues to help take the service to even further success..

Our Operations Manager leads all operational, logistical and technical fields for the UTV service. The role is extremely varied with wide ranging tasks and no two days are the same.

Some experience of setting and managing budgets is desirable as is an interest in advances in production methods.

You will enjoy the challenge of a pressurised, deadline driven operation and you will bring real passion for the industry. Candidates will ideally have a considerable background in live broadcasting and an awareness and appreciation of the workings of the news environment is desirable.

To rise to the challenge, you'll need excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to be accessible to colleagues locally and in the wider company at all times. This is not a 9-5 role and 'out-of-hours' calls including at weekends are common. An in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations is desirable, as are top end administrative skills.

The ability to engage effectively with colleagues within ITV, including senior leaders
Knowledge of and interest in national and regional news - both newspapers, online and other broadcast media.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and quick thinking with a 'can-do' attitude
The ability to keep calm and focussed under pressure.
The ability to understand and work to a budget
An interest in upcoming technology
