There are more details on the kickstart scheme at this website. https://kickstart.campaign.gov.ukThe placement will be:25 hours a weekFor a six-month periodPaid the National Minimum WageThe Junior Editor will work closely with the Head of Production, and the Production team, working on editing films, and content. They will prepare edits and help a Senior Editor on large scale projects, but also will have their own films and edits to cut. They will also be responsible for cutting material for the company's social media channels, as well as identifying footage from our archive that may be able to be re-purposed for edits, and also stock libraries.As well cutting on Adobe Premiere they will be a requirement to prepare graphics and animations for the edits, and will involve using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. There will also be the opportunity to attend film shoots, and help on location, so will also be expected to understand how to work with clients and the importance of acting as a production assistant on location.Other aspects of the role may include general administrative work including answering emails and phone calls.You will learn about and gain experience in:The production process from start to finish with a real focus on post-productionMedia management and ingesting footageWork on live edits with sometimes tight deadlinesWorking with crew and clients as well as learning about practical elements of productionHow to present ideas effectively You will be given time to see how different areas of the business work, as well as the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator and PhotoshopParticipation in team meetings where we discuss projects and brainstorm creative ideasExperience of working in a small business, developing teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills and building confidence in the workplaceQualifications, skills and experience ideally required:Degree or qualifications in multimedia, filmmaking or any equivalent experienceA creative and analytical brain and the ability to convey and communicate ideasThe ability to make a decision with conviction, sometimes these decisions need to be made quickly and sometimes need the bravery to step back and really process and understand the gravitas of your decision before jumping inKnowledge and experience in digital social media platforms Some working experience of using the Adobe suite: Premiere, After Effects, illustrator and Photoshop is desiredHave good attention to detail and able to work within deadlinesWe are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive young person who wants to learn and apply the skills learned at either school, college or university to work on our exciting creative projects.
