Junior Video Editor

London

The TV Video Editor is responsible for recording and assembling raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting. The material they work with may consist of raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects. This is a key role in the post-production process and the editor's skill can determine the quality and delivery of the final product. This role will require being part of a team and working closely with the production team to achieve the desired end result.

You will be required to work on the following tasks:
• Prepare studio, camera(s) and equipment;
• Editing programs and adverts;
• Camera work;
• Assembling raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred for inputting into the computer;
• Inputting sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer;
• Digitally cutting the files to determine the sequence of the film and determining what is usable;
• Re-ordering and tweaking the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video;
• Checking the quality and progress of audio and vision editing;
• Consulting with the director, producer and/or client throughout the post- production process;
• Recording programmes in the studio and various locations;
• Creating/editing graphic elements where required;
• Use of after effects and other graphics software where required;
