We are recruiting a TV junior programme director with experience of working directly for Japanese broadcasters. The successful candidate must be able to speak, read and write native level Japanese.In addition, the person will possess good story-telling skills, be able to manage a budget and shooting schedules; be well organised and hard working, and have good communication skills. You will be expected to liaise and negotiate with locations and contributors and confidently direct technical crew and on-screen talent.We will support the successful candidate in areas as/when they need it (including idea generation and pitching) but you will need to fulfil the other criteria. We are equally interested in the person's specific experience of having worked directly with Japanese broadcasters and their language ability.You must have experience of working directly with Japanese broadcasters in programme making. You will primarily be delivering factual or factual entertainment content and you should be prepared to travel throughout Europe for research (pre-production) and for filming. You will be working in a small production company and be expected to generate ideas to secure new assignments from clients by proposing and pitching ideas to commissioning editors based in Japan. All proposals and scripts will be written in Japanese.
