Junior Edit Assistant

Holborn, London

South Shore Productions are looking for a Media Manager / Junior Edit Assistant to join their in-house team. The role is predominantly media management but there will be opportunities for some junior editing on in-house compiles and showreels when time permits. Self-motivation, strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail are essential for media management. The successful applicant will need to be willing to work on location if required.

Tasks:
• Working with Production Management and external post houses to oversee media movements through the full production lifecycle.
• Define on-location Media Management practice and maintain workflow documentation
• Attend all production start up meetings and arrange close down meetings with the productions, guide and influence productions in close down meetings to ensure only essential / required content is retained for future use.
• Promote archive best practice
• Keeping all paperwork and logs up to date
• Ensure all assets are named and catalogued in accordance with the South Shore protocol
• Copying rushes from location shoots.
• Data Wrangling of rushes to multiple media systems.
• Creating compiles of material ready for editing.
• Preparing drives for Post Production facilities.
• Managing deliverables at the completion of a job.
• Managing Storage systems and Backups systems across multiple locations.
• Working with in house teams to keep showreels and sizzle tapes up to date. There would be opportunities in the future to produce compiles and edits for in house development.

Skills:
• As there will be multiple projects happening in your day to day, time management skills are essential
• A strong understanding of the importance of data management and demonstrable knowledge of production processes.
• The ability to quickly analyse data and make quick and informed decisions.
• An understanding of media file technologies and standards - Codecs, bit rates etc
• A working understanding of both Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro
• Clear understanding of DPP formats, metadata and deliverables
• Excellent IT Skills.
• Knowledge and experience working on both Mac and PC.

Experience as a Media Manager or in post-production facility is preferred. Occasional weekend work may be required but scheduled in advance.
