Junior Development Coordinator

London

Do you love the sound of coordinating and managing a roster of scripts in development as part of a fast-growing script development company? Are you an eager, driven, and creative multitasker with an acute ability to communicate sensitive information in a time effective manner?

Script Compass is a pioneering development company, working with a range of clients across the film industry to help them to achieve production-ready scripts in the fewest number of drafts. Spearheaded by a BAFTA nominated producer and a Curtis Brown represented writer, Script Compass is an award-winning screenplay development service that is championing a cost and time effective development process. The company is a fast-growing entity with its base in Bloomsbury in central London. The position will be office based, with working hours between 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday.

An exciting opportunity to join the team at Script Compass as a junior development coordinator has arisen for a committed individual with a passion for film and television. The role will work across the development slate at Script Compass, with the goal of managing the roster of clients as well as liaising and working with development consultants and executives. In addition to working on coordinating the development process, the candidate will work closely with the co-founders to ensure the smooth running of all internal company affairs. From filing documents using Google Drive, to paying invoices on time, the candidate will take on a diverse and varied range of tasks to help with the management of Script Compass and other overall administrative duties of running a development company.

This role would suit someone who is an excellent multitasker, has great attention to detail and is a friendly and sensitive communicator. The role will have a majority focus on coordination, diary management and undertaking administrative duties. The candidate should have an excellent understanding of written English, with a particular craft for drafting emails and dealing with sensitive information. The role will also include using social media to market the business, and the ideal candidate should be someone who has a natural ability for digital marketing.

Taking initiative is an essential part of the position to ensure that deadlines are met, and clients are kept happy. The junior coordinator will be the main port of call between the co-founders and the clients and should be on call to process information and keep on top of the latest movements in the development of projects. The ideal person would be confident and personable in a team environment, but they should also have the ability to keep their head down and focus as an individual. Working in film can involve long and unpredictable working patterns with the pressure to meet tight deadlines. The post would be office-based, and in general, normal office hours will apply. However, a flexible approach to working hours may be required.

Key Purpose:
Help Script Compass to manage a roster of clients
Help with the smooth running and project management of a fast-growing development company
Help co-founders to manage their time and projects
Help the team to have an overview of all projects
Help ensure the efficiency of the office environment
Help with social media - both posting and strategy

Responsibilities:
Managing diaries and calendars for all SC team - with a particular focus on managing the time of the co-founders
Managing diaries and calendars for all SC clients - including booking meetings in international time zones
Processing, paying, and managing all company invoices - including incomings and outgoings
Overseeing the development process for each consultant to ensure they have all they need and are on the right page
Reaching out to new clients via email
Participating during pitch meetings with clients
Doing research into new clients to brief the team before pitch calls
Using excel to create complex costings for quotations
Creating quotations for new clients using Powerpoint
Liaising with development consultants and executives to ensure the smooth running of their development cycles
Research and administrative assistance to ensure best process and practices are adopted in-house - always on the ball with new management and organisation solutions
Running/management of the office space - including ordering new equipment and making sure all office supplies are stocked
Social media marketing via Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Educated to degree level
Minimum of 5 years experience (working in a similar sort of role)
A passion for film, television, and games - with a strong interest and understanding of development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - especially when it comes to grammar, punctuation, and formatting
Experience of managing a small team
Experience of dealing with customers/clients in a B2C role
Experience working with film and TV industry professionals
Excellent knowledge of the writing process for film and TV
Experience of managing finances
Experience of office management
An understanding of dealing with industry partners
Excellent time management
Google Drive Expert
MS Office Expert
Strong understanding of scriptwriting software (Final Draft, FadeIn, Celtx etc.)

Hours of Work:
9am - 6pm Monday to Friday - Full time position

Place of Work:
Script Compass Office - Bloomsbury, Central London (on site is non-negotiable)

Remuneration:
22 - 25K - depending on experience (salary and job role review after 6 months)
