Junior / Assistant Film Editor

London HYBRID

The Junior / Assistant Film Editor plays an essential role in the post-production of Bladonmore's film work. This involves editing films for our clients and bringing their stories to life as engaging and dynamic content, as well as assisting and collaborating with other editors across projects for various platforms and purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Editing:
- Act as an editor on film projects, either independently or in collaboration with producers / consultants / designers / and other editors.
- Implementing feedback changes, cut-downs, or reformatting for different channels.
- Creating titles, lower-thirds, and captions/subtitles as required.
- Perform basic colour correction, sound mixing, and mastering.
- Perform the editing aspects of animated films, working in collaboration with animators.
- Bring a skilled, innovative, and creative approach to your work while being mindful of client expectations, budgets and time constraints.

Edit Assistance:
- Creating and preparing new edit projects to a defined standard.
- Consolidating relevant media, building interview and b-roll assemblies.
- Overseeing media transfer to and from external post-production suppliers. Including audio studios, grading suites, graphics companies, etc.
- Research and sourcing of music / stock footage / images / templates / plugins for projects in line with the brief.
- Delivery of finished films in their final formats. Ensuring all work meets technical best practice procedures and standards.

Requirements
- 3+ years' professional experience (with at least 2 years as a junior or assistant editor).
- Experience working in either a communications/media agency, corporate film/video production company, or post-production facility.
- A dynamic showreel and varied portfolio that showcases your editing skillset and creative approach to corporate film.
- Demonstrable After Effects and/or Da Vinci Resolve skills and experience would be advantageous.
- Hybrid working. 3 days a week in the central London office.

- Strong video editing skills. Always considering narrative, pacing, and shot selection.
- Intermediate to advanced Adobe Premiere knowledge and skills.
- Basic to intermediate 2D motion graphics creation using Adobe After Effects.
- Colour grading knowledge and experience.
- Basic to intermediate sound design and mixing skills.
- Basic competence in other Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and Media Encoder.
