Journalism Coordinator

Jersey

As a Journalism co-ordinator you'll play a key role in out-putting our weekday breakfast show. Working alongside the presenter and Senior Content Producer you'll provide technical support, co-ordinate guests and helping deliver creative excellence that connects with island audiences. You will work 0500-1300 Monday-Friday

WHY JOIN THE TEAM
This is the programme islanders wake up to - for a digest of local news and information. We'll raise a smile and keep them company too. This is your chance to help shape the morning agenda and engage with island life.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

Provide technical support to output the programme
Assist with the booking of guests and contributors
Provide editorial help and record interviews and features
Develop programme strands and ideas
Play an active role in the wider audio team

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

This is not a role for a beginner - you should have a working knowledge of BBC Radio Jersey and how we serve the island.
An understanding of the audience we serve is desired and an ability to quickly develop a range of technical skills.
You'll be comfortable with an early start, with the shift running Monday-Friday from 5am.
Good local knowledge of Jersey, an appreciation of the programmes we produce and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small team.

If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we'd love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
