Head of Digital

London

The Head of Digital will lead Narrative's digital operations as the business diversifies into new areas of content distribution. This role will work across both the GREAT! and POP brands and will be responsible for the commercial delivery, strategic direction, budget management and product development. This is an exciting opportunity to work on digital products where you can lead on the future direction of the business by identifying and delivering services that are commercially successful in their own right. You will work with global platforms and manufacturers ensuring Narrative's brands are visible and we are meeting our partners' business needs. A key area of this role is to ensure all new services are successfully monetised via advertising working closely with our digital advertising agency.


WHAT YOU WILL DO
Project Management - managing the roll out of new platforms for our VOD Players and FAST channels liaising and coordinating with our third party suppliers
Performance and analysis evaluation - regularly update the business on the performance of the new services and insight into how they can be improved. Put measures in place to ensure best practices are being followed via centralized dashboards and reporting
Monetisation - Build strong relationships with our digital advertising sales agency to ensure the commercial viability of all digital products and setting up new revenue streams. Diligently report revenues to stakeholders in the business
Ownership - own launches from start to finish and subsequent in-life management. Be the main contact for any issues relating to the services
Budget - Oversee digital budgets; managing digital P&L and planning new expenditure
Strategy - Remain up to date on key developments in the market, highlighting challenges and identify opportunities around existing and new technologies and platforms
Leadership - Directly manage and lead a small team who will work across our Owned & Operated services
UX - Review and refine the Information Architecture (IA) and overall UX (user experience) to ensure optimal performance

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Successful experience of managing a team and will be comfortable and confident in managing critical stakeholder relationships
Enjoy working proactively to identify opportunities, solve problems and manage external agencies
Experience of supporting ad sales teams who are tasked with selling inventory as well as implementing ad tags and maximising ad inventory and opportunities.
At least five years' experience developing and evolving successful consumer focused digital services. Experience in launching FAST channels is a bonus.
2 or more years of people management experience
A driven, motivated and confident attitude with the ability to use your own initiative as well as work as part of a team
Be highly organised, adept at multi-tasking and maintain a proactive, flexible and adaptable approach
A commercial mindset with experience of developing and delivering digital revenues
Proven ability to take ownership and manage multiple projects, prioritise and deliver results
Conversant with different ad-serving, video and CMS platform and technologies; comfortable coordinating between different internal and external teams to solve problems
Experienced with regulatory parameters, in particular around the collection of children's data and targeted advertising
Collaborative approach with ability and willingness to work across departments to coordinate and deliver strategies and efforts between and within groups
Knowledge of API usage and web application hosting
Understanding of analytic software and systems
Able to manage and control budgets effectively
Experience with Jira/Asana or similar collaboration tools desirable but not essential
A user-centered design approach to understanding audience needs and validating solutions
Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills
Be proactive, solution-focused, and betterment-driven.
