The role and company
A new production company is seeking a highly experienced Producer of feature-length documentary films. The company is an independent film production business, recently launched by a high-profile industry executive with over thirty years' experience in film and TV.

The company is currently co-producing two feature documentaries, both of which follow the life and work of two very high-profile artists at the intersection of creativity and commerce. Both projects are well funded, with very full budgets for the category.

Candidate attributes
The role will be responsible for supervising both productions, working with the directors to articulate and then deliver on a creative vision. The right candidate will be highly experienced in working with producers, directors, legal and commercial functions, and the broader creative community, ensuring creative excellence whilst being commercially savvy.

Ideally the candidate will have a demonstrable history of producing high profile documentaries, working with PR teams, sales and distribution functions and with exposure to premier film festivals, awards, and theatrical presentations, but high-end television documentary experience is also sufficient. Experience of working with artists, and/or a keen interest in art would also be helpful.

About the role
Working arrangements can be highly flexible, including full or part-time as appropriate. The role itself will be as part of a lean management team, so will require a high degree of self-sufficiency. The producer will receive customary credits on the films. The company is extremely well positioned and has a deep pipeline of potential projects; current scope of work is for the two projects described above, but there is opportunity to become an instrumental part of growing the company into a leader in the segment.
