Executive Producer

Manchester HYBRID

This is a senior creative leadership role with real agency, working closely with me as Artistic Director/CEO and with SICK!'s Executive Director, supported by our Creative, Community and Administrative Producing team.

The Executive Producer will drive a dynamic, year-round programme across festivals, creative health and international co-creation, shaping both artistic ambition and organisational growth.

The role offers the opportunity to strengthen and expand strategic partnerships, champion SICK!'s ethical and values-led approach, and help lead the organisation into its next chapter as we grow our national and international profile.

Contract: 2-year fixed term with opportunity for extension subject to confirmed funding
Hours: 37.5 hours per week full-time. Due to the nature of the role evenings and weekend work and UK and international travel will be required, SICK! operates a TOIL policy.
Annual Leave: 25 days per year (plus bank holidays)
Pension: Employer contribution 3%
Probation period: 6 months

Location: The Sharp Project, Thorp Road, Manchester, M40 5BJ. We operate a hybrid working policy.

Strategic Leadership
Drive the development and implementation of SICK!'s mission, vision, and organisational strategy,
ensuring alignment with the 2025-2030 Business Plan.
Collaborate closely with the Artistic Director/CEO to conceive and deliver arts-based projects with local, national, and international relevance, addressing health, social issues, and inequality.
Lead the identification and cultivation of national and international partnerships with cultural institutions, health organisations, academic bodies, and other stakeholders.
Champion a bold approach to artistic innovation, ensuring SICK!'s work remains impactful and resonates across diverse communities and audiences.

Partnership and Project Development
Build and nurture relationships with commissioning partners, funders, and collaborators, ensuring the successful delivery of joint initiatives.
Develop and oversee creative projects that integrate co-production principles and align with SICK!'s
strategic objectives.
Act as a key ambassador for SICK!, representing the organisation at national and international events to enhance its profile and foster new opportunities.
Secure equitable agreements with partners, ensuring all financial, safeguarding, and creative needs are addressed.

Team Leadership and Development
Manage and provide leadership to the Creative Producer, Community Producers and festival delivery
teams, ensuring clarity, collaboration, and high-quality delivery of projects.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture that prioritises clarity, creativity, and accountability.
Provide mentorship and development opportunities for staff and freelancers, ensuring they have the
resources to excel in their roles.

Fundraising and Income Generation
Work in support of the Executive Director to implement a dynamic income generation strategy, including securing funding from grants, trusts, sponsorships, and philanthropic sources.
Contribute to the identification of new income streams and innovative funding opportunities that align with SICK!'s ambitions and values.
Collaborate with the team and external consultants to provide input for compelling funding applications that support SICK!'s growth.

Finance and Governance Support
Collaborate with the Artistic Director/CEO to oversee project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring financial sustainability.
Contribute to risk management processes, safeguarding policies, and compliance with governance best
practices.
Support reporting to the Board on project progress, strategic goals, and financial performance.

General
Uphold and advocate for SICK!'s commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity in all operations and partnerships.
Any other responsibility as deemed necessary for the delivery of this contract

Person Specification

Essential:
A proven track record of leading and delivering creative projects with national and international
relevance.
Experience managing creative teams, including producers and event delivery teams, to deliver ambitious programmes.
Experience developing strategic partnerships with cultural, health, or academic organisations.
A strong understanding of arts-based approaches to health, social issues, and inequality.
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a commitment to inclusivity and co-production
principles.
Demonstrated ability to support fundraising efforts and contribute to income generation.
Outstanding communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to represent SICK! confidently in diverse settings.

Desirable:
Experience working within a charity or non-profit organisation.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and compliance within arts and community projects
