Camera Trainee & Kit Room Assistant

Details: Full time position, core hours are 9:30 - 6:00, Mon-Fri but flexibility is required in order to prep kit for when it's needed. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as required. 3 month probation period, after which the position becomes permanent.

Overview

Eve'll Industries are a fast-growing production company who are looking to recruit someone to act as a kit room assistant and camera trainee. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves cameras (and all kit) and is keen to learn on the job about high quality video production. Your main area of responsibility will fall on the organisation of video equipment going in and out and the kit room will become your domain. There will also be opportunity to go out on shoots and develop your skills as a camera assistant with ongoing training to get you out there and shooting.

Duties/Responsibilities

Prepping kit before a shoot. Ensuring that everything is ready to go (batteries charged, equipment functioning correctly etc).
Taking delivery/collection of hired in equipment. Checking it to ensure everything is as required and sending out on shoots.
Keep the kit room tidy and well organised.
Acting as a camera assistant on shoots.
Acting as a camera operator as/when appropriate.
Assisting with other in-house productions.
General office duties. Phone answering. Post office/lunch runs etc.
Edit skills a bonus. Premiere Pro and/or Resolve.
Picking up and dropping off kit so a clean driving license is preferable.

Organised and methodical.
Good Camera equipment knowledge and a willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
Can-do, helpful, attitude.
Flexible - the hours will vary from week to week so this is key.
A good time keeper - lateness is inexcusable in this line of work.
A passion for making high quality video.
An interest in entertainment, documentary and the visual arts.
Pleasant, friendly & professional manner.
Some post-production (i.e. edit) knowledge a bonus.
Confident at driving in London.
