JOB TITLE: TRAINEE BROADCAST ENGINEER

ABOUT THE ROLE

A BRIEF SUMMARY

EMG Connectivity are looking for a Trainee Broadcast Engineer to join our RF team of on-site technical crew, focusing on the delivery of wireless camera systems and specialist cameras into the broadcast industry.


WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

We are looking to expand our team of on-site Engineers & Technicians and invite candidates looking for a career in television outside broadcast to apply for the above position.

Trainee engineers will gain experience with our broadcast specific RF equipment on-site and in our equipment test areas at our base in Dartford, Kent.

Candidates with IT based qualifications and/or previous RF Engineering and wireless camera experience would be an advantage. However, we will also consider applicants with experience in areas such as mechanical/electrical engineering, electronics and broadcast engineering.

We provide full training on our equipment, procedures and health and safety.


Key responsibilities:

testing, maintaining and configuration of equipment.
rigging and derigging of equipment at various outside broadcast locations.
troubleshooting and fault-finding issues on site.
driving to and from locations with equipment.

Essential Skills:

good computing/I.T. awareness
holds a full UK driving licence
excellent attention to detail and committed to achieve goals

ability to use your own initiative and manage time effectively
interest in TV technologies, media and live broadcasting
ability to solve problems systematically
interest in learning with positive 'can-do' attitude

Other Beneficial Skills:

experience with audio, video and RF equipment
basic electrical and electronics knowledge
basic mechanical skills and ability with hand tools
ability to document progress and results
basic computer skills including Word/Excel
CAD and 3D printing experience
basic IT, scripting and programming skills
experience in broadcast or live events environment
experience in basic PCB design
experience in making audio, video and RF cables
PAT testing experience
interest in cameras/photography, sound or RF
