About the role:Based in Alzheimer's Society's central London office the Audio Visual team are responsible for all the film and audio content the charity makes about itself. This can mean anything from a thank you to our fundraisers to an emotional story of a person living with dementia. We are a small team of two that works with a whole range of people across the organisation and travel all over the UK meeting those working in our frontline services and those affected by dementia. We tell real stories of those affected by dementia to help widen society's understanding of the condition, support fundraising and bring in new supporters. Our team is one of the most in demand at the Society and holds an important role in all major campaigns.About you:You will be a skilled self-shooter and editor with at least two years' experience in a similar role or freelancing as a self-shooter. Knowledge of the production process, good researching and some interviewing skills are a must as well as practical knowledge of camera, audio and lighting equipment (Sony FS5, Canon 5D Mark III). In addition you must be experienced in editing on Premier Pro and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will also demonstrate a good eye for cinematography and modern documentary styles and feed into the creative process developing projects with the commissioning teams and acting as the content expert. It is essential that you feel confident talking to people with reduced mental capacity about sensitive and emotional topics, and can conduct yourself in a compassionate and professional manner while also developing a rapport with people. Skills in Photoshop and After Effects are desirable. Most importantly you need to uphold our brand values to be bold, credible and optimistic in your work. You also need to have the energy and flexibility to outside normal hours on occasion and travel on short notice.
