Open City Documentary Festival creates an open space in London to nurture and champion the art of non-fiction cinema. We deliver training programmes, an annual film festival, the bi-annual publication Non-Fiction and screening projects throughout the year that aim to challenge and expand the idea of documentary in all its forms. The 15th edition of the festival will take place in London in May 2025.

We are based at the UCL Centre for Public Anthropology, home to the MA in Ethnographic and Documentary Film Practice, MFA in Creative Documentary and MA in Immersive Factual Storytelling.
