Formed on the football terraces of York City, Button Down is a factual TV production company in the North of England.



Our work for broadcasters and brands is narrative driven with high production values. We care about telling authentic stories with humour and heart.

We are backed by Matisse, the Nations and Regions consultancy group. In 2020 we were awarded a BBC Three documentary series as part of the BBC's Northern Voices initiative. We are recipients of the Channel 4 Emerging Indie Award for documentaries.
