Kowalski are a new independent television production company backed by STV and based in Glasgow. Kowalski aim to produce popular, compelling and quality documentary and factual entertainment programming for the UK and USA.

Simon Howley is head of Kowalski and brings a wealth of experience to the company. He was formerly an Executive Producer at Firefly Film & TV Productions making series such as, 'Life or Death' for the Discovery Channel, Pirate Gold for National Geographic, 'Britain's Close Encounters' for Channel Five and Mark Dolan's 'The World's...and Me series for Channel 4, as well as a wide range of documentaries. Simon was also Series Editor on 'Seconds from Disaster' for National Geographic, "The Greatest Ever....and won a Gemini Award as Series Producer for 'Animal Cops Detroit'.

 

Also part of the team is accomplished film-maker, James Bates, who has directed programmes including 'Horses of Iceland' for Animal Planet, 'Ten Years Younger'and 'World's Toughest Tribes' for the Discovery Channel and has series produced  'Mummy Forensics 'MegaStructures' for National Geographic and  for the History Channel.
