About
Fulwell 73 Productions grabbed the headlines in 2007 with its first theatrically released feature film, the hugely original and successful 'In the Hands of the Gods'.
The four partners Leo Pearlman, Ben Winston and brothers Gabe and Ben Turner started the company with a long list of stylish, contemporary television and film work already under their belts. Their credits include BAFTA award winning TV shows 'Wife Swap' and 'Teachers', the critically acclaimed 'Letting Go' and commercially successful feature films 'The Guru' starring Jimi Mistry and Heather Graham, and 'Fever Pitch' starring Colin Firth.
The four partners bring a soup-to-nuts combination of experience and skills in writing, directing, producing, editing and finance. They formed Fulwell 73 in 2007. After starting out making brand-driven TV for Sky Television and developing the directorial direction of its partners through a number of award winning shorts, Fulwell moved into feature films. Their first feature, 'In the Hands of the Gods', was released by Lionsgate in September 2007, with the largest ever opening weekend for a documentary in the UK. The film was described as "A testament to the power of dreams and football" by the Radio Times, "Unmissable" by Loaded magazine and given a five star rating by Empire, Total Film and The Times.
Fulwell believes strongly in utilising the talents of young British writer/directors, who have had the time to both develop their own style and vision, and have something important to say that can translate easily to the big screen, both in this country and abroad.
Subsequently, the company is currently in post-production on Andrea Zimmerman's feature documentary, "Prisoner of War", release scheduled for September 2011 and the debut feature from Daniel Mendelle, psychological horror film, "London". They are at script stage on "Black Flash", recently announced, starring James Corden and Ashley Walters. They also have debut features, written by Gabe and Ben Turner, both in the latter stages of scripting. Fulwell's two most recent features, "Turnout", starring Ben Drew, Ophelia Lovibond and Peter Ferdinando and "Eyes Wide Open 3D", the JLS concert and documentary film, are set for theatrical release in June and September of 2011. Fulwell are also currently in post production on the feature film "Piggy", starring Martin Compston and Paul Anderson.
Finally, on the TV side of the business, the company recently completed a fourteen part ITV1 series called "James Corden's World Cup Live" and this years Comic Relief Smithy sketch. They are also in pre-production on "Judgement Day", a multi part series investigating the truth behind global warming, presented by Professor Lord Robert Winston and a documentary that follows England's football team in the build up to the European Championships in 2012. Fulwell is also in production on a documentary series about Eric Cantona, Pele and the NY Cosmos and in development with a number of broadcasters on various TV series.
