Weekend Tech Producer

London

Your role: TalkRadio/TV are looking for cool, calm and collected technical producers who have experience of driving live radio programmes and are used to being the focal point between presenter and production team. Please note this is a weekend role.

Day to day you will:

You'll be responsible for keeping the presenter informed of the show's progress (when to break, how long left before the news etc)

You'll be responsible for controlling the microphones; setting and monitoring the levels of presenters and guests; and listening to every word that goes out on air.

You'll have a good understanding of the OFCOM code and will check with the producer about any on air concerns.

You'll also be required to have a great knowledge of playout systems such as Zetta or Myriad and understand how the log can be manipulated and at a moment's notice and also able to manually play out the news, weather and traffic and travel if required.

As TalkRadio is now on TV, you'll also be responsible for helping play out live events (press conference etc) or video clips live on air, and it's essential that you work with the producer and visual producer to do this correctly.

You may also be tasked with capturing and editing audio as and when asked by the producer.

What we're looking for from you:

As you can see from the above, you must be able to mutli-task in what can be a loud and busy environment where deadlines are constantly changing. You must be able to prioritise and take instruction from the producer while always listening to the output of the programme.
You'll be very familiar with playout systems such as Zetta and Myriad, and you'll understand your macros, cross-fades and segues.
And with TalkRadio's industry leading visualisation, you'll also be across - or open to learning - how to use software such as Multicam.
You'll have a keen interest in the media and a good understanding of media law and the OFCOM code.
You'll have phenomenal foresight as to what could go wrong and what you've put in place to prevent that from happening.
