Videographer

Petty France, London

We're looking for an experienced videographer to join our video and photography team producing creative content across government.

You will be responsible for shooting and editing a variety of video styles from interviews, pieces to camera and creative B-roll, working alongside other videographers and producers to ensure high-quality footage is captured. You will also be responsible for shooting portrait and documentary photography.

You must be passionate and enthusiastic about video. You're a people person who thrives on working alongside others. Your positive attitude makes people feel relaxed on shoots and you have the ability to get the best out of those being filmed.

You will be required to travel to different locations and occasionally work non-standard office hours.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• shooting and editing high-quality studio and location footage including interviews, pieces to camera and B-roll
• using DSLR and cinema cameras, gimbals and tracking rigs. Determining what equipment is required on shoots and setting up cameras, lighting and audio equipment
• shooting and editing photography including portraits, documentary style and events, with a good understanding of flash photography
• having strong post-production skills with experience in editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop and After Effects
• understanding the brief, tone and audience, then filming and editing in a style that reflects this
• attending creative briefings with the team and clients, making technical and creative recommendations and presenting ideas for approval or development
• challenging briefs and offering creative solutions
• assisting the producer in writing treatments for clients and producing shot lists, story boards and schedules
• excellent teamwork with a willingness to learn as well as share own knowledge
• working under pressure to tight deadlines
• maintaining the equipment, ensuring batteries are charged and cards backed up
• keeping on top of industry trends and sharing any new ideas with the team

Experience and personal skills:

• degree (or equivalent) in media production, film production or equivalent on the job practical experience
• at least three years' experience in video production with a thorough understanding of the production process from start to finish
• proficient in using DSLR and cinema cameras (Canon preferred), gimbals and tracking rigs as well as setting up lighting, sound and backdrops
• photography experience is essential, as well as having excellent knowledge of different lighting techniques
• experience in self-shooting as well as working as part of a team
• experience working on a variety of video styles such as piece to cameras, case studies and drama productions
• excellent video editing skills with experience of using creative software including Premiere Pro CC, After Effects and Photoshop
• an ability to tell a story through visuals, showing that you've understood the brief, tone and audience
• demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels
• an interest in current trends
