Videographer

London

The Conservative Party is looking for a Videographer to join our Digital team based in London.

As a videographer, you'll be right at the heart of the moments that make history. You'll be responsible for capturing high profile engagements across the country, coming up with exciting new formats to connect our audiences and executing a consistent high-volume pipeline of varied video content - from speeches to vlogs, interviews, challenges and Vox pops, and more.

The successful candidate will be able to work in an extremely fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and they will play a key role in ensuring Conservatives stay ahead of the curve in the way we produce and share our digital content. They will need to be self-motivated, organised and comfortable directing, giving advice and best practice in the moment. They will be part of the most exciting team working in politics this side of the Atlantic - and their work will touch millions of people every day. They'll make the most of what is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Your responsibilities

Create videos for the Conservatives, Prime Minister and other social media channels
Develop briefs and evaluate video performance
Oversee the design of our YouTube accounts (e.g. channel cover, profile pictures and layout).
Attend regular external visits with Conservatives to capture high-quality and engaging social media content
Use expertise and social media best practice to create more innovative, engaging formats to help communicate key announcements and messaging
Help to develop a regular drumbeat of video-based social media content for the Conservatives, Prime Minister and other high-profile politicians
Be a creative, digital native, proactive problem solver, communicator, and team player
Handle admin arrangements such as timing, press cards, transport and access to restricted areas, venues and events
Have proven experience in creating audience-focused, channel-specific videos, with the ability to tell compelling stories
The role will include travel across the country. This will also require flexibility and some evening and weekend work (Time off in lieu is generally given)

What we're looking for

Essential

You will have a track record of making video content to a high standard and comfortable with all steps in the process: storyboarding, script writing, filming, editing and evaluating.
Excellent organisational skills.
You to be a social media native, with a love of all things digital and regularly keeping abreast of innovations, industry best practises and opportunities to implement them in your work.
You will be regarded as a great team worker, collaborator and proactive problem solver, who is committed to continually improve your work through insight and evaluation.
Experience working with senior stakeholders or talent preferred, as this role includes working with and advising Ministers and the Secretary of State.
Good communication, presentational/organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail are also important.

Desirable

Experience working within politics, entertainment, sports or with YouTubers.
