Videographer / Sound Technician

Salisbury

We are currently seeking to appoint a Videographer/Sound Technician to work alongside our Studio team, who will support this role with advice and mentoring. The videographer would be given the opportunity to create a range of engaging video content include two YouTube series, educational, training and promotional materials. They will be given the opportunity to capture footage on a real archaeological site, as well as work alongside our existing photographer and new animation artist. They would be expected to be flexible in their approach and will help develop improved workflows for video production.

The aim
The aim is to improve existing video production workflows to improve the quality of our video and sound output. They will work on two YouTube series (six per series), shorts, training/educational materials and documentaries in conjunction with other Studio Team members. They will be expected to engage fully with our YouTube site and work closely with our Communications Team to achieve regular content for our growing online audience.

The successful candidate will need to travel to sites, so must have a clean driving licence. While on site they would also be expected to provide basic video and sound capture training to other staff as required.

This contract will be an initial 6-month placement based in Salisbury but will require some travel and potential overnight stay away (accommodation, subsistence and transport will be provided). Some remote working from home is also available if required.

The successful candidate will:
* be a BA graduate in digital media/video seeking employment within the heritage sector;
* experienced in both video and sound capture;
* experienced in both video and sound editing;
* have a keen interest in heritage or archaeology;
* be an ambitious individual with the aptitude and aspiration to develop;
* have excellent communication skills;
* be technically astute, with an excellent understanding of the requirements for promotional imagery;
* have a flexible, pragmatic, collaborative approach;
* have a full clean driving licence.
