Contra Agency are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our team of passionate film makers!We are an established, awarding winning production company working as the video production department of Contra. We work on anything from high end short promotion films through to feature length documentaries, shooting all around the world on a range of formats including Red, Alexa and so on. We have doubled in size in the last year and are looking to continue this trend with the support of a talented Production Manager.Check out our portfolio:¿http://film.contra.agency/You'll be helping us take care of the business, financial and logistics side of our video production, including planning schedules, organising resources, locations and equipment, and monitoring costs and budgets.If you're well organised, have a good head for figures and would like a varied role in commercial and corporate video production this could be an ideal job for you.You will be heavily involved in all aspects of video production, including: meeting with the producer and other senior production staff to examine scripts or video ideasdrawing up production schedules and budgets based on the necessary logistics, timings and estimated costsnegotiate costs to make sure they come within budgethiring the relevant crew and contractorsarrange the booking of resources, locations, equipment and suppliesarrange any necessary permissions and risk assessmentsorganise relevant licences and agreements.where necessary you will also manage a production office team, which might include production assistants, production secretaries and a production coordinator.During filming, your duties might include:making sure that the production runs to schedulecontrolling and monitoring production spending and accountsreporting on progress to the producersmanaging the production office teamdealing with any problems during filmingmaking any necessary changes to the schedule or budget (for example re-scheduling filming in bad weather)making sure that health and safety rules, insurance terms, copyright laws and union agreements are followed.The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of the production process, and a network of contacts in the industry.Good accounting skills and qualifications would be an advantage because of the budget management work involved with this job.You must be able to show genuine commitment and some previous relevant work experience, including at least 3 years as Production Manager for a similar production company.The following skills are important for success within this role:excellent financial and business skillsgood computer skillsexcellent planning, negotiation and problem-solving skillsgood written and spoken communication skillsconfidence, assertiveness and decisivenessthe ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlinesthe ability to manage people and delegate taskswillingness to work long or flexible hours when neededa knowledge of first aid and health and safety.
