PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As the Video Editor for Global Comms, you will be responsible for editing much of the video content across pmi.com, pmiscience.com, and our social channels. Your films will support major campaigns and events throughout the year. Working within a small, in-house production team you will also help to oversee film productions, as part of the wider team when needed. Furthermore, you will ensure the secure storage and cataloguing of footage for all in-house editing and distribution.

YOUR 'DAY TO DAY'

Video editing and post-production: Responsible for taking the lead in driving edits from concept through to delivery, across a broad range of styles to meet the creative requirements and ensuring legal compliance throughout the process. Must be skilled in editing and motion graphic design for multi-formats, not just traditional corporate edits. Proven track record for producing creative and intuitive visual content for publication across digital platforms. Ability to design and create GFX for fully animated films, infographics, title sequences, logo stings, visual FX and compositing. Construct and weave narrative for story-based edits. Create stylish montages for promos and see projects through from first cut to sound mix, colour grading and final delivery.

Creative collaboration: Collaborating with stakeholders, freelancers, and other members of the team to understand project goals, and creative concepts and deliver accordingly. Contribute ideas for visual storytelling, shot composition, and overall video aesthetics to deliver the best results. Effectively communicate with clients and other key stakeholders (internal and external) to align the video content with expected outcomes.

Project management: Manage timelines and deadlines for video projects, ensuring timely delivery and demonstrating accountability. Organizing and maintaining video files, project assets, and documentation. Establish and develop efficient and effective editing workflows, driving efficiencies and finding solutions to help avoid (or resolve) any post-production issues.

Filming and pre-production: Working with the team to plan and execute video shoots both in the UK and abroad, live and pre-recorded. An ability to assist with shoots as an additional camera operator is preferable but not essential. Managing the capture of high-quality footage that aligns with the creative vision and goals of the project leads to tell the story of PMI.

Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting: The ability to maintain and organize our in-house video equipment is preferable. Troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during shooting and editing. Staying up to date on the latest video production and editing technologies and tools is essential.

Distribution: Act as the gatekeeper for video footage, ensuring content can be distributed within other teams and agencies for wider use where appropriate and legally compliant. Support global markets with assets and transcreations where needed.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

An ideal candidate must have strong post-production skills, and be skilled in editing and motion graphic design for multi-formats, not just traditional corporate edits. A proven track record for producing creative and intuitive visual content for publication across digital platforms. An ability to design and create GFX for fully animated films, infographics, title sequences, logo stings, visual FX and compositing. Construct and weave narrative for story-based edits. Create stylish montages for promos and see projects through from first cut to sound mix, colour grading and final delivery.
