The Role

We are looking for a Video Editor to be an integral part of the award-winning HENI Talks platform. You will be responsible for creating film for online audiences and social media, to create world-class short films showcasing expert speakers and artists. We continually strive for fresh, original, and engaging content. Formats range from social media cuts to 60-minute documentaries, with core films tending to be 4-15 minutes in length.

This is a new role for someone looking for an exciting opportunity in a creative and growing company. We look for people with a passion for innovation, art, and culture. The successful candidate will bring expertise in editing, colour grading and an aptitude for strong narrative. There are also opportunities for training within this role to develop a range of video production skills.

This position will be predominantly based in our office on Lexington Street, London. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

Responsibilities include:
• Work with Producer/Director, Senior Camera Operator and social media teams to create and edit original, engaging video content.
• Support and collaborate in the crafting of narrative, interpretation and refining of edits.
• Create compelling edits for multiple platforms, YouTube and social media channels, with the inclusion of subtitles and credits where necessary.
• Participate in music and sound design, help set the tone and source from a network of libraries.
• Utilise motion graphics to support storytelling in line with film narrative.
• Understand and keep informed of developments in video for multiple and emerging channels and formats.
• Maintaining an organised workflow and back-ups.


Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
• A sophisticated knowledge of Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and DaVinci Resolve for the entire post-production pipeline
• Understanding of codecs, resolution, proxy workflow and multi-cam editing.
• Syncing separate audio manually and audio mixing.
• Strong communication skills and a team player, with a passion to utilise your specialist experience of video production to actively contribute to film planning and the production of dynamic content.
• Self-motivated, proactive problem solver and willing to go the extra mile and meet deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
• Understanding of usage and clearance requirements for archive assets and music.
• Ability to multitask for multi-delivery projects
• An interest and passion for the global digital landscape, with great knowledge of YouTube, social media trends, emerging platforms and technological developments.
• Strong interest and knowledge in art and art history.
• Ability and interest in assisting with shoots on occasion. The team predominantly shoot on Red Scarlet Weapon and Black Magic cameras, using a raw workflow.
