The RoleActing as Video Editor on a wide range of video projects, including editorial, promotional, corporate, social and entertainment pieces.This role is primarily an editing role but a knowledge and ambition to produce motion graphics content is also desirable as most of our content will have an element of this included. (Tracking text, screen replacements, logo animates etc)• Editing of video/audio content in response to briefs.• Working closely with the Creative Lead, Producers and Directors on projects, with the ability to work independently to a brief when required.• Provide creative input for conceptual and pitch purposes.• Overseeing Freelance Editors and Motion Graphics Designers where required.• Liaising with the in-house team and, on occasion, direct with clients to define their requirements to ensure an on-time, on-budget, high quality delivery.• Working with the Production team to advise on post-production schedules and workflow where required.• Liaise with in-house departments to ensure every aspect of content creation runs smoothly; build strong working relationships with other Smyle employees and freelancers to enable this.• Take a leading role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to client satisfaction and deadlines.• Research and implement new/updated products/programs and solutions to ensure Smyle are at the cutting edge with the services/products provided• Take a hands on role in defining post production workflows to ensure efficient running of projects.• Constant review of processes to ensure the day-to-day smooth operation of post production• Initial trouble shooting any issues with software or hardware and notifying IT support where required.• Ensuring the execution of overnight server backups is completed.• Archiving and mastering projects on completion.• Complete all related administrative tasks (for example: log sheets, personal timesheets, backup of projects)• Follow the guidelines of all company policies, both at HQ and when on-site, paying particular attention to Health & Safety.• Actively participate in Smyle's sustainability initiatives and observe the policies and procedures which underpin Smyle's ISO20121 certification.Requirements• Must have a solid background in post production.• Must have an excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud especially Premiere and also a knowledge and desire to learn After Effects for use within editing projects.• Knowledge of 360/VR video process is preferred.• Must be creative and keen to learn new skills and techniques.• Excellent interpersonal skills.• Needs to be resilient under pressure with the ability to maintain quality standards when working to tight deadlines with the flexibility to work longer hours including some evenings and weekends when absolutely necessary.• Must be proactive, with good leadership skills and decision making ability.• Agency and PR experience is advantageous.
