Video Editor / Colour Grader

Luton

Clearhead is an ambitious multi-award-winning video production agency, which next year celebrates its 15th year. We were born out of the belief that brands deserved more. More attention, more creativity, more quality, more value for their money. Our mission, to be the nation's most successful, creative and loved provider of digital content. So we wanted to create an agency that could offer great content for great people from great people.

Based in the heart of Bedfordshire, our Luton-based studio is a 2,500 sq ft, open plan creative oasis located on the second floor of a fully refurbished Hat Factory. Hat House is part of the Hat District's cultural community of bars, live music, venues and events at the neighbouring Hat Factory Arts Centre.

Our Clearhead team is an in-house, multicultural, multidiscipline group of 12 individuals who come together with our shared values to create brave and inspiring content. From producers to directors and editors. Management to finance and motion graphics. We believe in being accountable to our values as we recognise the importance and merit of each of them. They define our attitude, approach and actions and run deeply through the Clearhead team and process. Don't take our word for it, our clients consistently give us amazing reviews!

About the role:

Clearhead are looking for a talented new video editor to join our growing creative team. Although the role is on-site only at present, we are investigating solutions to offer hybrid working in the future.

If you're looking for an excellent opportunity to work for a wide variety of clients in all sectors on a range of varied and exciting projects then this may just be the job you've been looking for.
Just take a look at our portfolio on the Clearhead website or Vimeo and see if what we do is the sort of thing you would like to be doing too.

We're looking for someone with a keen sense of what makes makes an edit... work.

You will need to have experience with editing software (ideally Adobe Premiere) and a portfolio to show off your previous work.
You will need to know how to effectively colour grade using Davinci Resolve.
Any additional experience with sound editing, sound design and motion graphics, while not essential will be a huge bonus.
We have also recently produced a number of Live events so being able to show any experience of any aspect of live streaming will be beneficial.

We will be on the lookout for someone with natural talent when it comes to editing.
You will need to be able to hit the ground running and learn quickly.
With guidance and support from the Production Manager and Creative Director, we will need to be able to depend on you to produce quality work that shows good technical abilities.

You will need strong communications skills and excellent time management skills.
You will work alongside the Production Manager and Video Editor (and our new motion graphics designer) and be a key part of the post production team.

By submitting an application, and if successful in securing an interview, you will be agreeing to edit a short test project for us so that we can gauge your technical abilities as well as being able to think creatively on your feet when it comes to constructing an edit.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Editing and sound editing.
• Colour grading using Davinci Resolve.
• Ensuring all project files are managed and organised correctly, efficiently and effectively.
• Backing up projects once they are signed off.
• Researching, sourcing and editing music for productions.
• Assisting the production team with kit preparation as well as providing occasional on shoot support.
• Being accountable for meeting deadlines.
• Looking for training opportunities and presenting them to your line manager to develop your skillset.
• Occasional communication with our clients via our project management platform.

Personal Qualities:
• Positive and optimistic in difficult situations.
• Determined.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Artistic and creative 'eye' for film.
• Self-Motivated and a motivator of others.
• Humility and teamwork.

In return, we offer a thriving work environment, the opportunity to work with great clients and projects plus a competitive salary package and benefits including private healthcare and pension contributions.

Benefits and Perks:
• Private Healthcare cover with Vitality
• 22 days holiday + day for your birthday + bank holidays and Christmas
• Training/management PDR development plan including access to funding for training (at Management discretion).
• On-shoot sustenance, accommodation and travel covered by Clearhead from office location.
