Trainee Technical/Camera Operator

Westminster, London

We are looking for a Trainee Camera Operator, ideally (but not essentially) educated to HND or degree level to work as part of our small and dedicated team. The applicant must have a keen interest in current affairs, politics and media operations. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is eager to learn, embrace new challenges and is willing to work some irregular hours as the sittings of the chambers dictate our own hours of work.

We use remote cameras throughout our operation at Parliament, but we encourage our staff to work at our other company bases, learning PSC work and to use studio and other broadcast cameras. We actively encourage multi-skilling, many of our staff have shown aptitudes for directing and engineering which we are keen to nurture and develop. Bow Tie television also provides the broadcast and AV service for the Greater London Authority at City Hall, where we televise meetings held by the Mayor and London Assembly. Staff should expect to be rostered there too.

The successful applicant will have to gain full security clearance from the Houses of Parliament to be able to take up the position.

The closing date for applicants is Friday 16th December, with interviews taking place before Christmas. The successful applicant would be available to start in early 2012. Applicants must email their CV attaching a covering letter, to westminster@bowtietv.com marking the email Trainee Tech Op.
