We are looking for a Trainee Sound Assistant to join our Production Sound team working on a wide range of productions, both live and pre-recorded in studio and on location. This role is for an individual interested in developing a career in sound. Previous experience and or proven understanding of sound recording and audio technology and software is preferred.

The successful candidate will receive training whilst they work with the aim of becoming a full member of the sound team. During the course of training the successful candidate will learn to use and upkeep the sound equipment.

They will also acquire the ability to mix, record and check the sound for our live and recorded television productions. The training will cover the use of Mixing Desks, PSC mixers, microphones both wired and with radio packs, recording equipment, editing software, producing clear and high-quality soundtracks, grams playback and an understanding of production sound communications equipment.

The ability to speak & understand Welsh is an advantage. A full, clean driving licence is a requirement of the post.

Location: The post is based in Cardiff but a degree of flexibilty and travel will be necessary.
