We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, creative team player who can thrive in a live studio environment to join our Production Specialist team as a Trainee. This role entails...Full training will be given to enable you to quickly work as part of a multi-skilled team providing technical, craft, operational and administrative skills across all areas of our news and programmes. Based in our Belfast newsroom you will be equipped with the skills to work in live studio operations with the opportunity to specialise in certain areas such as gallery timing, vision, sound, directing bulletins, craft editing, media management, traffic, production administration or scheduling. Shift working - including weekends, early mornings and late evenings - is a required part of this role.You must be willing, and have the aptitude, to develop new skills (with appropriate training) and to move between different duties and programmes on a daily basis as the needs of a busy and vibrant broadcast operation requires. You'll also be happy to share your own skills with others.As a Production Specialist, you will be a highly motivated individual as well as friendly and approachable. You will be committed to working as part of a successful team, sharing the responsibility for supporting news and programme production. Above all you will be an excellent communicator who is quick thinking and calm under pressure with strong and decisive decision-making skills. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills: Minimum role criteria:1: A relevant degree, or equivalent qualification/experience2: Experience of and an understanding of working in an HD studio gallery3: Your application provides evidence of your growth mindset; flexibility and positive attitude 4: Your application clearly demonstrates with examples your skills and abilities as a strong communicator; decision maker and team player. 5: Proven ability to learn and apply new skills.6. Relevant knowledge in at least one of the following areas: live studio operations, gallery timings, vision, sound, bulletin directing, editing, media management and traffic/MCR. Key role criteria1: Always positive and seeking to develop new skills (with appropriate training) 2: Proactive with the adaptability and flexibility to move between different duties and programmes on a daily basis.3: Highly creative with an excellent eye for detail4: Ability to share skills with others.5: An excellent communicator who is quick thinking and calm under pressure with strong and decisive decision-making skills.6: Demonstrates drive, resourcefulness and resilience in everything you do.
