Coronation Street are recruiting a Trainee Makeup Assistant to assist in the smooth running of our Makeup Department .

Our Trainee Makeup Assistant will have some Media experience and an understanding of the importance to maintain the character hair and makeup throughout filming. You must be able to apply makeup, also cut, dress and style hair as appropriate, working closely with other departments to ensure that the character 'look' is achieved.

It is important that you are approachable, enthusiastic and willing to learn in what is a fast-paced, exciting environment and have the ability to communicate positively with the entire production team, working closely with a team of Makeup Supervisors and Makeup Assistants.

During this contract you will learn to familiarise yourself with the scripts and schedules in order to discern make-up requirements in conjunction with our makeup supervisors, learn all about studio discipline and etiquette. You will need to have a keen eye for detail and proactively assist in the care and cleanliness of our makeup equipment, wigs and hairpieces.

Discretion and tact is an absolute must for this role and you will build up good communication skills with a range of artistes, maintaining complete confidentiality at all times. In addition, punctuality and reliability is key and a willingness to work long hours.

You will have a Media Makeup qualification, an NVQ level 1,2 & 3 in haircutting also level 3 mens barbering is a must. Experience of working with Makeup on a TV Drama is advantageous.
