Traffic Manager

In order to generate high volumes of world class social media content we need a brilliant Traffic Manager to manage the smooth running of schedules and workflows. The successful applicant will be a core part of our growing team.

You'll own the schedules and prioritisation for a variety of creative projects within the team. These might include social media content, advertiser-funded content or commissions. Working with our producers and leadership team to make sure everyone stays on track. It goes without saying that you'll be obsessive about timelines, great with a spreadsheet and used to keeping people to deadlines and prioritising workloads.

The Traffic Manager needs to be exceptionally well organised with a flexible, proactive approach. Able to work with the team to find solutions to schedule issues but not afraid to keep us on our toes!

This role will be based in the Leeds office and the job holder may be required to liaise with the broad team on any given project including Marketing and Commissioning teams as well as with all Channel 4 departments, to ensure as coherent an approach as possible.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS
* You'll receive briefing documents from the wider team and schedule the workloads according to priorities and staff availability
* You'll have day-to-day ownership of supporting documentation and content creation logistics.
* You'll assist in processing and managing invoices as and when needed.
* You'll be passionate about the fast-paced world of digital production and understand the differences between that, AFPs and traditional broadcast.
* You'll produce regular reports for the leadership team on how we're tracking on schedules
* You'll be solution-focused, calm in a crisis and a voice of reason when things don't go according to plan.
* You'll have ideas and suggestions of how processes can be defined or improved. We're a brand new department so you're coming in on the ground and we're interested to hear your ideas.
* You should be passionate about Channel 4's output, remit and values. They come into everything we do.
* You'll work in our Leeds HQ as part of the 4Studio team, and in partnership with multiple other stakeholders and may be required to travel to other Channel 4 locations occasionally.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Technical & Professional Skills
* Proven experience in a similar role, especially for a digital team or agency.
* Must have a thorough understanding of processes, workflows, tools and methodologies.
* Should be a quick learner and curious about new technologies and solutions.
* Have a good understanding of digital production processes.
* Experience of using productivity tools such as Teams or Tello is preferred.

Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
* Should be confident in communicating at a wide variety of levels
* Able to reprioritise workloads according to changing needs
* Must be highly organised.

Managing Resources
* Will manage digital production workflows and schedules via a number of cloud-based tools.

Relationship Management
* Must be able to communicate effectively with different departments to prioritise and communicate deadlines and workflows
* Works regularly with a mixture of people from management, production teams, and third party suppliers.
* Must be collaborative in their approach.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication.

Complexity/Problem Solving
* Faces a regular mixture of routine and non-routine problems in the role.
* Should be resilient and calm under pressure.
* Must be a proactive problem solver.
