Technical Operator

Liverpool

ROLE:

We have an exciting Technical Operator role available within our Digital Media team. The role is responsible for the set up and operation of all technical areas within a live studio broadcast facility at our LFCTV studio based in Liverpool City Centre. This is an interesting and varied role which will include multi-tasking across a wide range of key studio operations including sound mixing, vision control, file based ingest, EVS operation, studio cameras and lighting, encoder operations and signal routing. The role will also include an element of production graphics, digital sound desks and networked audio.

In addition, the role is responsible for MCR (Master Control Room) server based operations; supervising broadcast services and scheduled transmissions of live and recorded programming. This will include emergency recovery procedures, as well as escalation with external parties where necessary.

Whilst working in the Technical Operator role you will monitor file formats to ensure they are suitable for transmission and ensure all broadcasting regulations are adhered to at all times.



PERSON:

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Technical Operator with an excellent understanding of audio principles and video signals along with current production requirements.

You will have a strong team ethic and will be willing to share knowledge and best practice in your key area of expertise whilst equally being open to developing and learning new skills across the technical department.

We encourage continuous improvement and innovation so you will need to be somebody who is always striving to make things better and will be comfortable in putting new ideasand concepts forward to ensure we evolve and improve.

You will have excellent communication skills, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and possess an assertive approach to problem solving. The studio environment is busy and exciting but can become pressurised at times so you will need to be able to stay calm under pressure.

Due to the nature of our industry and the ever-changing football factures you will need to be a flexible individual as shift patterns will be dictated by our games.

TEAM:

LFCTV broadcasts seven days a week, 24 hours a day, from our purpose built HD studio facility. Coverage includes news and reports, live match action from the Academy, exclusive interviews, discussion programmes and documentaries. Home matchday programming comes live from our Anfield studio and pitchside at Anfield stadium.

T&C:

This is a permanent full time 35 hour position working on a 5 days out of 7 pattern.

Your main work space will be in our modern City Centre offices which have, good transport links, are close to local amenities and have great views out over the City and River Mersey.
