Main DutiesAudio Hardware Support:• Support for core audio software and hardware in all studios and edit suites• Studio and edit suite support to keep them running smoothly• Troubleshooting and flagging maintenance requirements• Dealing with pre-planned and urgent maintenance• Working closely with third party companies to facilitate maintenance as requiredComputer and IT Support:• Update and installation of software updates• Maintaining tidy studios and machine rooms• Basic network management of endpoints• Server maintenance and file space management• Connection troubleshooting of network devices - WiFi, printers, client devices• Working closely with third party companies to facilitate maintenance as requiredData IO:• Ingest and egress of contents for in house and external projects ensuring that all security protocols are adhered to• Archiving/restoring to/from LTO archives as required• User management of externally accessible servicesOffice Support:• Support for Microsoft 365• Building Management support (via third party companies) as requiredPrior Knowledge: The ideal candidate will have experience of some - if not all - of the following:• Thorough grounding and experience working on and maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting Avid hardware and Software - Pro Tools Ultimate and Standard, S1, S3, S6, Dock, D-Command, MTRX, SPQ Cards, DADman, Sync HD, HD MADI• Experience working in Dolby Atmos and with the software and hardware that goes alongside Dolby Atmos• Experience working with and some theoretical knowledge of a variety of digital and analogue audio formats, cables, connectors• Experience working with Audio over IP, ideally Dante, and video over IP, ideally AdderLink.• Experience working in depth with MacOS; troubleshooting, configuration, terminal• Experience with common file transfer systems - Aspera, Signiant, SFTP, for example• Some experience working with or understanding of virtual machines and Linux OS• Basics of network configuration and support• General awareness of the audio world and knowledge of generic digital audio equipmentQualities:• Proactive individual with strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.• Punctual delivery of work and consistent quality of work within tight timeframes• Willingness to work out of hours on occasion to meet deadlines (as required).• Able to work systematically and calmly while under pressure in a time sensitive environment.• Effective communication skills to ensure smooth running of the support team and Boom as a whole• Want to work in audio as a technician and wish to develop prior knowledge and skills.
