Our work includes documentaries, factual and entertainment television, films, and event cinemaDescription: Virtual Post is currently looking for a Supervising Operations Manager with a keen interest in working in a creative and high tech post production environment. This role will work alongside the Head of Operations to supervise the day-to-day workload, resources and staff with a core responsibility being the training and development of the team members. Key Responsibilities: ? Supervising the day-to-day post-production operations of the business, whilst supporting the Head of Operations and other departments as required. ? Ensuring the department maintains efficient processes, workflow and a high standard of output and liaises with post producers and other departments on all technical matters.. ? Line management of the operations department including performance reviews, rotas and holidays. ? Develop and deliver Training plans for all operational staff. Short, mid to long term plans.? Proficiently communicating with the Virtual Post staff on the status of projects including holding regular edit assistant update meetings. ? Manage any changes or problems that occur and facilitate successful production completion, guaranteeing all client requirements are met.? Being responsible for all parts of the post production pipeline from ingest to delivery and ensuring a high standard of quality for the work produced by the operations team. ? Responsible for closing down projects and long term archiving.? Providing 2nd line tech support when required and point of contact for escalation. Liaise with post producers and other technical departments within the company to resolve complex issues. ? Help to develop, test and maintain workflows and provide technical documentation. ? Using Ceta, our scheduling software, manages and prioritises the daily workload of all operational staff. Taking into consideration client deadlines, the time a job will take, and key competencies across the team.? Coordinating tidiness of the machines and nearline storage spaces alongside the IT department.? Capacity planning and forecastingSkills and and requirements:? 5+ years working in post production environment? Advanced knowledge of using DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer and Adobe products.? Expert understanding of post-production workflows.? Thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment.? Excellent computer skills with PC (Win 10) and Mac.? Good communication skills.? Ability to work and manage a team under pressure.? A natural collaborator that can build strong relationships.? Good judgement with the ability to balance the needs of the company and employees.? Excellent organisational skills and project management skills.? The ability to assess problems and creatively initiate solutions.? Self-motivated approach to tasks and self-learning.? Excellent communication skills with an ability to be across multiple projects at once and be able to answer questions. ? An ability to relay information and training in an efficient and easy to understand manner. ? Strong forward thinking abilities to foresee resource and staff issues ahead of time.? Previous management experience is desirable.
