SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - UK TV Distribution: Content Acquisition and Sales

Program Duration: 8 weeks (June 17 - Aug 9)
Weekly Hours: 24 hours/week (Mon-Thurs at 6 hours/day, 100% onsite)
Hourly Rate: £18/hour

Dive into the world of TV distribution, content acquisition, and sales with this internship at FIFTH SEASON's UK office, where you'll be at the forefront of shaping the company's content lineup and market strategies. Gain hands-on experience in researching and analyzing market trends, providing coverage on a variety of scripted and non-scripted content, and supporting the sales team in maximizing distribution opportunities. This internship offers a comprehensive experience in TV distribution and sales, allowing you to actively contribute to FIFTH SEASON's content acquisition and sales efforts while developing valuable skills in research, analysis, and content management.

Job Duties may include:
Research and Analysis: Develop and implement a rubric for ongoing analysis of FIFTH SEASON's content lineup, presenting project findings to senior leadership, and training wider teams. Analyze markets such as FAST, AVOD, and K drama to support strategy development.
Content Management: Compose and coordinate episode notes for producers, streamline and maintain content databases, and identify titles for potential second window acquisitions. Manage content catalog, financial projections, and incoming submissions, analyzing submission data to recommend strategies to resolve slate gaps.
Sales Support and Administrative Tasks: Compile sales feedback sheets for producers, create presentation decks for the sales team, and provide administrative support by minuting meetings, offering reception cover, and supporting cross-team correspondence.
A pivotal aspect of this internship is the candidate's dual interest in both the creative and business facets of the entertainment industry. Although the intern's primary role will be within our department, they will be encouraged to engage with various teams across the organization, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the industry's entire lifecycle. This internship involves participation and exposure to creative and administrative processes-from conducting research and analysis of industry trends to providing support across departments. The intern will also have the unique opportunity to shadow employees, gaining insights into different facets of the business.

As a capstone to their experience, the intern will also undertake an independent project, culminating in a presentation to company executives at the end of the summer.
