WLP, an innovative design and production agency based in Central London with a wide range of clients in the entertainment business, is looking for a subtitler to join the team.
As a member of our subtitling team, you will be responsible for creating and checking English HOH subtitles and closed captions for a variety of DVD, Bluray and digital releases, as well as adapting and retiming existing files, and conducting QC of final subtitle streams.
You will also coordinate freelancer work and help with scheduling, administration and resourcing.

The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of EZ Titles (or a similar subtitling software package), having worked in a similar role for at least 1 year.
They will also have a keen interest in content as diverse as opera, classical music, Shakespearean literature, UK and US TV series, classic TV and film, Hollywood movies, and independent UK film.
They will be intelligent, pragmatic and organized, with the ability to prioritise multiple projects, and possess excellent attention to detail.
An excellent command of English is essential.

Required skills:

• Experience using EZ Titles, or a similar subtitling software package, in a similar role, for at least 1 year
• A broad interest in film and TV of all eras, as well as music (including classical and opera)
• Native English speaker, with a broad and varied vocabulary
• Ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail and high levels of concentration while working under pressure, especially when conducting QC
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent PC skills
• A willingness to learn and adapt
• Resourcefulness and the ability to take initiative
• Knowledge and understanding of regional dialects and accents
• A good level of general knowledge

Desirable skills:
• Some knowledge of film and TV post-production workflow and process, including video file formats and frame rates
• A good knowledge of different subtitle file formats and their uses across different platforms and channels
• Good working knowledge of a second language
Salary: £20k DOE
