We are hiring a Studio Manager to manage our team of editors and animators. We are a relatively small but very busy production company that services the in-house and client work of Mother London, the UK's leading independent creative advertising agency. We also take on our own work including documentaries, short films and online content. We are looking for someone talented and keen, with some experience but still early on in his or her career.The start date for this role is 29th September.We would like to conduct interviews during the week of 15th September, so we'll close applications at the end of this week Friday 12th September).We'd like to know a little bit about you as a person, and why you think you're suitable. The ideal candidate will be confident with the following:WORKLOAD MANAGEMENTReceiving all requests for jobsHaving an accurate overview of every current job in the studioScheduling studio time and allocating editors / animators / production crew to a jobQuoting / budgeting for jobsKeeping track of time spent on each job against agreed budget, and negotiating discrepancies.Chasing job numbers and billing jobs PEOPLE MANAGEMENTEnsuring all editors / animators / production crew are fully briefed by the relevant parties, have access to any necessary assets, and are aware of the deadline of their projectEnsuring efficient flow of information and assets between all parties (design studio, account managers, clients etc.)Resolving a wide range of problems and workload conflictsKeeping calm and positive under pressure FREELANCERSBooking freelance editors, animators and post-production crewProcessing freelancer invoices and making sure they are paid on time / correctlyLiaising with HR to make sure all freelancers are contracted and fill in timesheets ADMINResponsibility for accurately billing all jobsAddressing all Studio enquiries promptly and efficiently TECHNICALKnowledge of standard video editing software, file formats, resolutions etc.Knowledge of the kind of films we make - case studies, mood films, documentary, animation etc. PERSONALITYConfident in dealing with senior staff and external clients in a professional mannerConfident in delegating work to people who are more experienced or senior than themAbility to motivate and inspire positivity in busy or difficult situationsAbility to criticise constructivelyCreative eye for all aspects of work in the studioPositive and unflappable under pressureArticulate, logical and organized PREFERRED EXPERIENCEMac / Video Production / Editing / Excel / Word plus Knowledge of Film, TV & Music
