Studio Broadcast Engineer

A leading teleshopping channel is looking to recruit a Studio Broadcast Engineer to their production team.. You will be responsible for carrying out first line support to all broadcast areas and assisting with in house broadcast and project installation work. You must be from an Electronic/Electrical Engineering background with at least five years' experience.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Carrying out first line support to all broadcast areas.
• To assist with in-house broadcast project and installation work.
• Resolving any faults or failures efficiently and quickly.
• Ensuring correct functioning of various broadcast systems and subsystems.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance as necessary.
• Maintain up to date working knowledge of industry best practice alongside developments in the relevant technical fields.
• To be fully conversant with the Company procedures and their implementation.
• To produce or obtain risk assessments and method statements where appropriate.
• To assist in training new staff as required.

Essential Skills are also required in:
• Specific experience in at least one of the following technologies: Avid/EVS, production switchers, broadcast cameras, AV routers, audio mixers, modular infrastructure "glue".
• Ability to evaluate technical problems using appropriate Broadcast test and measurement equipment.
• Conversant with electrical power systems - UPS and Generator.
• Good understanding of video and audio broadcast systems.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage time and tasks.
• Confident communicator with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• Flexible and adaptable.

You must be a self-motivated, imaginative team player with the ability to still work independently and a good understanding of terrestrial and satellite systems.
