ITV Studios are looking for people to join their freelance Stagehand talent pool. If you are successful in joining the talent pool, the team will use this pool as and when there are adhoc shifts available.

Main Purpose of the Role;
? Represent the interests and standards of ITV.
? Follow Scenic Supervisor instructions.
? Work closely with Floor Manager to ensure smooth running of RX days.
? Ensure safe working practises are upheld.
? Ensure the correct erection of all set and props used.
? Inspect rigging equipment dexterity before use i.e. the rope used in the
studio grid.

Key Responsibilities;
? Ensure all Rigging equipment is used correctly and is within the current test dates.
? Check all set pieces dexterity before erecting and especially if lifting.
? Ensure all work is in accordance with relevant Risk Assessments and
Method Statements.
? Provide basic training to new crew to ensure succession.
? Ensure the cleanliness of the studio after each build and RX days.
? Ensure all access equipment is used in a safe manner.
? Repair and first line maintenance of any equipment and scenery that
becomes damaged.
? Report any failures and breakages of equipment and scenery to Scenic
supervisor.
? Adherence to studio etiquette and discipline.

Unusual Challenges/Circumstances (eg a lot of travel, long or unusual hours of work, cover for others at short notice);
? Flexible approach to work and working hours. The nature of production
can be unpredictable and people may be required to work longer hours
at short notice including occasional weekends and bank holidays.
? Good standard of physical fitness as certain aspects of the job will be
physically demanding.
? Work effectively in a pressurised work environment.

Qualifications/Professional Certificates required/desired;
? Relevant rigging certificate or training such as the PLASA national rigging
certificate.
? Counterbalance forklift license preferable.
? IPAF part 3a and 3b preferable.

Abilities and Characteristics required;
? Basic carpentry and rigging knowledge.
? Physically able to lift scenery and unload trailers.
? Shows determination to move things forward to get results.
? Has ability to react positively whilst resolving problems under pressure in
a multi-task environment.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrates tact and
diplomacy in all relationships.
? Acts consistently, fairly and openly with respect for feelings of others and
encourages similar approach in others.
? Ability to build positive and long-term relationships.
