To work across Channel 4 News digital platforms, producing high impact content - focused on the production of audio and video podcast content, finding and building audiences for our podcasts and thinking about digital engagement.To produce, help plan and output high-quality output for The Fourcast and feed into production of Ways to Change the World focusing on Youtube strategy to grow the audience.To secure maximum impact for Channel 4 News' digital and television material online. This role will likely include shift work, weekend work, and possibility of travel.Key Responsibilities Output the Fourcast and as a specialist producer, edit the episodes with a YouTube focus, plan the slate with the digital news editors, presenters and programme editors, as appropriateHelp grow our podcast audience across all platforms, focussing on growing YouTube and engaging digital audiencesWork across all Channel 4 News podcasts to help ensure that they have the best mix of guests possible, and are filmed, recorded and edited to the highest of standards of video-first productionKey Requirements A producer with 5+ years experience working with the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detailAn exceptional video journalist and digital native who works to the highest editorial standardsAn understanding of the podcast market, especially Youtube focussed vodcastsA producer who has worked with audio, and is skilled in sound mixing and sound designA proven track record of producing high-impact visual stories across a variety of mediaHigh-level experience and understanding of picture and audio editing, colour grading (in the Adobe software environment) is essentialAdvanced knowledge of Adobe Audition is requiredSome experience working with essential graphics (in the Adobe software environment) is desirableExpert understanding and knowledge of social media and experience working across a wide variety of platformsStrong digital news judgement and understanding of successful formats across multiple platformsAbility to take a lead on substantial digital projects, innovating in formats that can succeed on TV and digital mediaHigh quality news judgement, editorial creativity and imaginationAbility to work autonomously and under your own initiativeFlair for expressing stories visually and an excellent writing ability, especially with longer-form or narrative-driven contentHighly developed understanding of complex legal situations and understanding of ITN Legal Compliance proceduresUnderstanding of Channel 4 News' output and approach to news storytellingCalm under pressure with the ability to adapt and be flexible in task and roleAbility to work to strict deadlines in a time-pressured environmentPlay an authoritative role in team editorial meetings - comfortable to present ideas of their own and provide constructive feedback to colleagues
