Job Introduction
RTUK is seeking to appoint a full time Sound Supervisor to work on live television news broadcasts and other prerecorded television programmes based in our Westminster studios.
Role Responsibility
In advance of a production the Sound Supervisor will be expected to liaise with the News Director, Engineers and other production teams to offer help and solutions.
The candidate will liaise with the Engineering Manager, Production teams and Operations colleagues in advance of a production and attend planning meetings to establish the sound requirements for each production, contributing to crewing levels and equipment specifications.
You will design and deliver resilient and effective communications to best serve Production, Talent and Operations colleagues on each production and troubleshoot all sound related items where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will hold the following skills:
• A minimum of 5 years broadcast experience
• Knowledge of Calrec desks and sound devices mixer
• A strong team player working well under pressure
• Demonstrable experience in broadcast sound, particularly as a Sound Supervisor with a live news background
• A proven track record of delivering high quality sound output either in a television outside broadcast or television studio environment, ideally in both
• Excellent initiative and leadership skills knowledge of modern sound equipment
• Sound practical and technical skills
• Flexible approach to working
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
