Social Media Assistant

London

talkSPORT is looking for a Social Media Assistant (Casual) to join our website team.

You'll utilise your creativity to take a proactive lead on creating bespoke, high-quality graphics for our various social media channels. These will serve to spark on-platform engagement - encouraging audiences to interact with our posts - and to drive traffic back to our owned and operated platforms, namely talksport.com.

Working closely with the Social Media Editor and wider editorial team, you'll support the day-to-day running of our accounts, ensuring talkSPORT's website content is promoted quickly, accurately, and creatively across platforms including Facebook, X, YouTube and Instagram.

Alongside supporting our main UK-focused social channels, you'll also play a key role in helping to build and grow talkSPORT's new U.S. sports social accounts, therefore knowledge of a variety of sports is essential.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who lives and breathes sport and wants to kick-start a career in social or digital media.

Day to day you will:
Create highly engaging graphics for our social channels, based on the sporting news cycle, to encourage conversation and debate
Post and schedule talkSPORT.com stories, clips, and graphics across multiple social platforms
Write sharp, engaging headlines and captions that help drive views, engagement and conversation
Create and crop visuals using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools to support our editorial teams
React quickly to breaking news, trending topics, and live sports moments with timely, platform-optimised posts
Help monitor real-time traffic and social engagement to inform what's working
Work collaboratively with the wider editorial and video teams to ensure content consistency across platforms

What we're looking for in the ideal candidate:
Comfortable using Photoshop and/or possessing general graphic design skills
Strong knowledge and passion for multiple sports, with a particular interest in Football, Boxing, and NFL
Experience of creating and scheduling content across various social channels
Understanding of what content performs well across specific platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and X
Excellent spelling, grammar and attention to detail
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
Willingness to work evenings and weekends around key sporting events
Able to commute into our London Bridge offices at least three times a week
